My sister and I began our trip to Ireland with a trip to Chicago, where we would board our international flight. Driving up to St. Louis to catch a flight to Chicago, we had no idea where we were going to stay that night, and I had foolishly promised Brother David that we wouldn’t sleep in the airport like we had planned to. After trying several parishes and being shut down, I called Fr. Samuel Russel, the rector of my seminary, to probe his knowledge of Chicago. He was able to find us a place at the Sisters of the Resurrection, who were extremely kind to us and truly expressed Christian hospitality.
Natalie and I went to the free park in Chicago, and I met this tiger there, isn’t he amazing. I want to take a nap in the sun next to this big cat!
(the reason we had to spend a night in Chicago is because when I was booking the planes, I accidentally got us a 22 hour lay-over… whoops)
